Happy Thursday everyone- With this last shoot, I have started tinkering again with some of the B&W treatments for my images. I'm told often that one of the best things you can do in photography is to develop a style. One that becomes recognizable and viewers can say, "Oh that's a so and so" based solely on the subject matter or the way the image looks. I have gotten pretty close to what I would call a standard "recipe" that works for most of the images I am shooting these days. And while that's fun, it is also way more fun to tinker around again with what you think is the best way and explore new options. Tonight, I was playing around with a fairly standard grab shot from the past weekend. There were a group of friends knocking a soccer ball around and I got this simple shot here of one the guys juggling the ball on the beach. I have always liked the bright, washed out look from a lot of beach photographers so I thought I might play around with some Pinhole treatments. This one here tries to combine the bright and washed out look together with the sharp contrast and falloff of a pinhole camera. I really liked the way it came out and I think I might tinker around with some more looks in this direction as well as continue to refine what I consider the "standard B&W" you have seen on the blog.
Enjoy your Thursday -
